Make Money Online

Friday, May 8, 2009

To make money online is not that difficult if you use the right monetization techniques. For a long time, Google AdSense used to be the most popular way of monetizing websites. Not any more. There are several popular advertising and affiliate networks that you can join to make money. Given below is a list of several such websites that I use. This is not a comprehensive list by any means. This is the set of networks that I work with currently, and have paid me well!

This is the most popular advertising network that people sign up for. The success or failure of using AdSense would depend entirely on the type of content that you have on your website.

Text Link Ads (TLA) provides with text advertisments. You earn not only for ad placements on your blog, but also when someone signs up using your referral code. From the TLA admin panel you can determine how much to charge per link placed on your blog.

TNX is a relatively new player in the text link ads arena. TLA is one of their main competitors. The TNX operating model is very different from TLA though. My earnings from TNX and TLA have been quite similar over the past few months.

AdBrite provides you with non-contextual ads on your blog. This is a good alternative to AdSense, even though you cannot expect to earn the same amount! If for some reason you are not eligible to participate in the AdSense network, this is one option you have.

A relatively new player in the market, this service was launched in 2007 and has been quite a success story. They provide technology products related advertisments, and pay on a CPC basis for US/Canada traffic and CPM basis for other regions. If you are running a technology product related blog or website, this can be a very useful widget to run on your website.

I have been using Bidvertiser every now and then, but off late they are getting quite active in the blogging space as well. Bidvertiser provides textual advertisements to your blog and AdSense is one of their main competitors. You only need to make $10 in order to be paid. They also have support for RSS advertisements for your blog feeds.

dealdotcom.jpg

DealDotCom offers a two-tier affiliate program. When you refer others to DealDotCom and they get a free account, they are marked in the system as having been referred by you. Anything that they buy will nets you a 35% commission. Anyone that they refer to DealDotCom goes on your second tier. Anything people on your second tier buy nets you a 15% commission.

payperpost.jpg

PayPerPost (PPP) has been a pioneer in the field of paid review posts. Publishers can charge an amount for writing an original review about a product or service on their blog. They provide a marketplace which brings together advertisers and publishers. This can be a good source of supplemental income or even the main source of income for your blog, depending on how you position it.

This is a competing service to PayPerPost with similar payouts. Its good to sign up for multiple services of the same nature, as it gives you a larger pool of advertisers to choose from.
